How does the chatbot widget work in terms of GDPR? Does it use cookies and what information does it collect? And do I understand right that the information collected is collected only when user sends the first message to bot?

Yes, the widget stores data in cookies to identify visitors and load their chat history.

Thank you. Is there any other information the widget collects besides the information that can be seen in the conversations data? And to be sure, the information like ip address is collected no until the first message is sent by the user?

Each conversation has its own chat session, which includes session details captured from the visitor. These details are visible in the conversation panel.

And those are the only details captured that I can see? So you don't store any other information? And just to be sure: does the widget store the information only when the conversation is started by the user?

Visitor details are collected as soon as the widget loads on the website. This is required for certain widget functionalities, such as triggers and welcome messages, to work properly. A chat session is created when the user opens the widget ( compact layout).

Then it seems that we should put YourGPT after the consent for cookies. Prior the user starts the conversation, do you store the ip address as whole, not anonymized, as ip address is personal information according to GDPR

The IP address is required for certain features in our system to function correctly. This is a common practice across most platforms. You can include this in your website’s terms and user consent to ensure transparency.
