Hello, I see that you have recently converted the search widget into a display option instead. This means we have to choose one or the other, but this is not how I want to use the search option. I still want to keep the chat version on the bottom right-hand side of the site, but also implement the search widget in specific parts of the website where it really serves as a search function, not chat. I don't think these should either/or options, they should work together as they previously did.

How can I have both with your new configuration?

hello @Subminimal

Are you using the legacy search widget on your website right now on those page?

I was testing it, but it has some flaws because it doesn't work with Studio, so we cannot deliver the answers we need. Then when I went back into your backend, I saw that you changed how it works.

Can they both be used interchangeably? Or are you discontinuing the widget?

Actually, to provide similar functionality and a more consistent user experience, we have incorporated this into our main widget, as the previous one was lacking some functionalities.

We are also planning further improvements to the controls and settings, including the ability to configure different layouts for different websites or use cases, as you mentioned. I’ll share your feedback with the team, and we’ll explore how we can make it better for multiple use cases and needs.

@Sahil This is a critical need for me. The "Search" layout is deadly because it floats over the "checkout" button and kills 100% of mobile sales. You should thoroughly test and review this because we accidentally left it on and had to wait for a customer to tell us they could not check out on mobile.

However, I REALLY want the search mode for a specific iframe situation where people can use it with our store locator flow, or to search our shipping and returns terms, etc.

I really think these are two compatible views that can function on the same website, so having them as either/or is really not ideal. We're launching our new site in 10 days or so, and I've really been hoping that something like this would be functional by now already.

A simple alternative solution I even tried is to make a second chatbot and select that second view, but then we need to duplicate all our studio flows so it's really cumbersome an inefficient. If you could have two chatbots that shared the same studio flows, that would immediately solve the problem as well. It might even be better because then the "search" widget can have it's own voice and feel slightly different to the chat bot.

Is it possible to share studio flows between two chatbots?

Currently, there’s no built-in support for a shared Studio between multiple bots. However, we do support a Connected Bot functionality, which allows training data to be shared across bots.

Could you also share how you’re planning to use the Search Widget and the normal Chat Widget on your website? Specifically:

Which pages will use the Search Widget?

Which pages will use the normal Chat Widget?

How are you planning to use the iframe setup you mentioned?

If both widgets are intended to behave differently, then using separate bots would make more sense for that setup.

Also, could you share the issue you mentioned where the widget is covering buttons or UI elements? We’d like to test and reproduce it on our end.
